How Women Use Vibrators ... a study
One of the most comprehensive studies have just been released, looking at how women and men use vibrators differently. Women use vibrators more than men. In fact, 52% of women (45% of men) have ever used a vibrator according to a recent study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine. Researchers looked at 2000 women online through the Knowledge Network and found how women use vibrators and the effects vibrators had on women. In summary:
How women use vibrators
- 46% said they used vibrator for masturbation
- 37% said vibrators were used with intercourse.
The effects of using a vibrator
Women who used vibrators were less likely to experience a problem with sexual function, such as difficulty with orgasm, than women who do not use vibrators. They were also more likely to report a comfort with their bodies, and tended to take greater care of their bodies, in the form of regular gyno check-ups than women who did not use vibrators.
Most women (71%) found no ill effects from using vibrators, but a few reported some mild numbing and irritation, which short lived.
